Excellent hydrating-barrier toner, but the exfoliation and brightening claims are overstated. The formula scores well because it is built around high-position humectants and barrier-support ingredients like glycerin, butylene glycol, betaine, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, beta-glucan, hydrogenated lecithin, ceramide NP, and phytosphingosine, which strongly support a Hydration/Barrier Repair profile. I would not score it higher than a mid-high 3 because the “active” brightening and exfoliating components are mostly buried low in the INCI list, so kojic dipalmitate and the enzyme blend are likely present at low levels and are unlikely to deliver clinically strong exfoliation or brightening; this is a well-formulated essence toner, not a true treatment toner.
